Cunningham resigned from the House on November 28, 2005, after pleading guilty to accepting at least $2.4 million in bribes and underreporting his income for 2004. He pleaded guilty to federal charges of conspiracy to commit bribery, mail fraud, wire fraud and tax evasion. On March 3, 2006, he received a sentence of eight years and four months in prison and an order to pay $1.8 million in restitution.

The ship is now doomed to be a queen of the dockside and shipyard. May God have mercy and care on all the sailors and marines ordered to serve aboard her. A lighter filled with human waste would be too good for him.
A ship named for a member of congress so concerned about American servicemen in Germany he made the DOD buy PA coal and ship it to Germany! Waste. He falsely accused fellow Marines of a younger generation of all sorts of terror crimes in Iraq and never apologized when they were aquitted. Nice.
I hope he rots in hell.
