Memorial Day

I know this day is recognized more of a “Day Off” from our busy work lives, and I certainly do not begrudge anyone from relaxing with friends and family, playing a round at the local 18, or slapping some steaks on the grill and enjoying the sunshine.

All I ask is that you take a moment, pause and remember what Memorial Day is all about.  It is our day to remember and recognize those who gave all in service to their country and countrymen.

They paid the ultimate sacrifice so we can continue to enjoy all the days God has given us.

"...gather around their sacred remains and garland the passionless mounds above them with choicest flowers of springtime....let us in this solemn presence renew our pledges to aid and assist those whom they have left among us as sacred charges upon the Nation's gratitude,--the soldier's and sailor's widow and orphan." --General John Logan, General Order No. 11, 5 May 1868
